It’s Friday👯♂️. Not that it makes much of a difference in lockdown when the days start to blur together.
But the fact that it’s Friday got me thinking about dress downs at work. I once interned at an office and you could tell it was Friday just by the dressing. I enjoyed those because it was sort of a peek into their personalities. Sort of – because you can only infer too much from what people present of themselves but it was a nice look into who they were outside work.
And some times when I’m just people watching I wonder about the future of fashion. Some outfits get me thinking that it can’t get better than that and others just get me fearful of the future.
My brother deeply believes the future is white. I’ll blame this on the movies he watches about the future. Because I want to live in a world that embraces colour. Give me all the neon brights things you’ve got.
Do you ever sit back and think about the future of fashion? (Where are the fashion designers at – give me a heads-up!)
Whether we are going round in circles or if there is a future for this – new ideas and all that. I came across two interesting posts this week that hinted on that Tikia’s Afroprint evolution and conniedia’s style comebacks
Such thoughts always remind me of how there is nothing new under the sun. But I hope to be surprised in a happy way.
So I thought I would close this up, I would highlight a young, up and coming fashion blogger and designer Esther. Be sure to check her out. I thought I would add her Pinterest account and some of her sketches but I can’t find those.
So I know I approached this week very literally – writing about culture and fashion but there have been great posts all around for the community. Especially on different cultures and things I believe need to be talked about. Be sure to check them out with the hashtag – WinterABC2021 or Afrobloggers Challenge.
