Out with the old, in with the new!

July is done, as you know and now we are in August, again as you know.

I was hardly here (πŸ™ˆ me hiding behind a pillar as I confess that) and I figured I would take stock. An idea I first saw from Justynlove.

So here goes;

I was…

Attending. Virtual meetings. My best kind of meetings. Till they asked us to make it to a meeting at 8am😱 and I hadn’t seen that hour in weeks. But I made it and went back to sleep after. Also made it to a virtual youth camp and that was fun!! So grateful for technology.

Hoping. For a number of things to work out. Some of them did, some of them are trying my patience. But it’s okay.

Laughing. Till there were tears in my eyes and stitches in my stomach. Almost in the same measure as I cried myself to sleep. Been the emotional month.

Learning. To take this life with a sound pace. I wear myself out with strange expectations and I just need to breathe and know, whether it works out or not, it’s okay. I’m doing well and I make it through.

Listening. To Elevation Worship and Maverick City’s Old Church Basement. In love with the song ‘Come Again’. To Disney Music, been typing to the Lion King Soundtrack. Heard the song ‘Second Chance’ by the HSMTMTS Cast and it has been on replay since. Disney Music understands the assignment πŸ‘ŒπŸΏ. To Olivia Rodrigo too as I contemplate the depths of heartbreaks that I don’t think I have experienced as yet but I like ‘Favorite Crime’.

Playing. My usual mobile games – Candy Crush and Homescapes. Threw myself a half-planned game night πŸ˜… and played Assassin’s Creed.

Planning. So many things that I was to do once the lockdown was lifted (Great news, the lockdown in Uganda has been lifted). And how to improve my daily living.

Reading. Sort of a lot. Read a lot of contemporary YA like Amelia Unabridged by Ashley Schumacher (check it out) and I should be moving on from the genre but I love it. Also picked up Party of One by Joy Beth Smith and another Agatha Christie. It was a good reading month and maybe I’ll just list all the books I read in the month in another post.

Singing. Quietly or not. On key or not. Whenever I got the urge I did.

Trying. To stay sane so I started having a gratitude list at the end of my journal entries. To keep fit so we have some sort of workout session going on here at home.

Watching. A lot of YouTube. Found Rachel Catherine and Mpoomy Ledwaba to add to my growing list of subscriptions. Some K-dramas too like Love Alarm and movies here and there.

Writing. In my headπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Can’t believe how fast this month passed me by. It honestly hasn’t been my best writing month but that OK. I did what I could and that is OK.

I guess we are all caught up with that.

So what’s the plan for August – not going to write things here that I may not follow up with. I’ll hopefully show up more often than not.

If you made it this far and don’t mind sharing, what was one your takeaway from July? Let me know in the comments.

    1. Yep. I like your stock taking posts. They always remind me of the beauty in the little things. Especially stuff I may have overlooked in search of bigger meaning.
Great takeaway for July. Hope it has carried on into August.
Thank you for reading and commenting :).

    1. Hahaha. I’m sure you can. Doesn’t have to be perfect but just for the fun of it. Yeah, been writing in my head for so long, glad to be getting back to the platform.
Thank you for reading and commenting.
